One of New York’s newest athletes could already be in some scorching hot water, a little less than two months after his initial arrival.
Kenneth Faried, who spent his first seven seasons as a member of the Denver Nuggets before he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets as part of a massive salary dump, was arrested early Sunday morning after getting caught with over two ounces of weed.
Unfortunately for the NBA powerhouse known as “The Manimal,” things don’t look all that peachy.

According to TMZ Sports, the 28-year-old power forward was arrested on the Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton, New York at around 1:30 AM Sunday. His vehicle, allegedly, was stopped at a sobriety checkpoint on Long Island, where an officer noticed that a “strong odor of marijuana was emanating from the inside of the vehicle,” per the celebrity news site.
Police searched Faried’s car and found over two ounces of cannabis, along with an undisclosed amount of cash, within the confines of the vehicle. He was then charged with fourth-degree unlawful possession of marijuana— a misdemeanor— and taken to a local police station for processing.
He was released on $500 bail.
