A man from Midland, S.D. wound up in jail after police say they found him to be driving drunk and in possession of drugs.
Pierre Police Chief Jason Jones said an officer stopped a vehicle for a stop sign violation near the intersection of Poplar and Dakota avenues. The driver, Traye Hedman, 20, of Midland was determined to have been drinking alcohol, Jones said. The officer also saw an open container of alcohol, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Hedman’s vehicle, Jones said.
Hedman was arrested on suspicion of his first DUI, underage purchase or possession of alcohol, not having insurance, having an open container of alcohol in his vehicle, possession of two ounces or less of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and a stop sign violation, Jones said.
