KEARNEY — Arrest warrants have been issued for two Kearney women in connection with a search warrant last week where drugs, cash and weapons were found.
Megan H. Rodehorst, 18, is charged in Buffalo County Court with felony distribution of marijuana, felony distribution of marijuana while in possession of a firearm, felony prohibited acts for possessing $408 in cash, and possession of drug paraphernalia, an infraction.
Kayla D. Mitchem, 18, is charged with felony distribution of marijuana, felony distribution of hashish, felony prohibited acts for possessing $16,550 in cash, felony distribution of marijuana while in possession of a firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia, an infraction.
According to court records Rodehorst and Mitchem both live at the house in the 1400 block of East 42nd Street where police served a search warrant last Friday confiscating drugs, cash and weapons. Three Kearney men, Joshua G. Ross, 19, Elijah Alexander Cortez Thompson, 18, and Dakota W. Welsh, 20, all have been charged in connection with the search warrant.
Court records outline the cases against Rodehorst and Mitchem:
Members of the Central Nebraska Drug and Safe Streets Drug Task Force received information that shipments of drugs were being sent to the house in northeast Kearney. On Friday, officers made contact with the residents.
When Mitchem answered the door, records say, officers detected the strong odor of marijuana coming from inside. Officers entered the house and detained the residents, obtained a search warrant signed by a judge, and searched the home around 11 a.m.
Seized from the house was a total of $16,963; 26 pounds of marijuana; a 12-gauge shotgun; an AK-15 and an AK-47 rifle with ammunition; 155 packages of THC concentrate; and numerous
