After stopping the vehicle, officers found THC wax pipes, 2.5 grams of THC wax, one package of THC edibles, six handguns and an AR-15 rifle, according to court documents.
The vehicle’s driver, Nicholes Ipema, 28, of Tinley Park, Illinois,was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and commission of a felony with a firearm. The passenger, 30-year-old Konrad Kowalski, Hickory Hills, Illinois, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Commission of a felony with a firearm is a Class 2 felony, punishable upon conviction by up to 25 years imprisonment and a $50,000 fine. Possession of a controlled substance is a Class 5 felony, punishable by up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. The other charges are misdemeanors.
